# Muse

> Let Muse set up Portfobit, guide browser OAuth, and connect your first exchange account.

Use this guide to connect Muse to Portfobit through a Remote MCP Custom Connector and continue through to your first exchange account.

## Recommended: Set up Portfobit with a prompt

Paste this into Muse:

```text theme={null}
Connect Muse to Portfobit using https://docs.portfobit.com/guides/mcp/muse. Configure a Remote MCP connector with browser OAuth. Guide me through signing in to https://portfobit.com and browser OAuth with the permissions I choose, then help me connect my first exchange account using https://docs.portfobit.com/guides/connect-your-first-account. Explain the credential-entry options before asking for exchange keys.
```

## 1. Set up the MCP connection

Ask Muse to create a Custom Connector using Remote MCP with these settings:

| Setting | Value |
| - | - |
| Name | `portfobit` |
| URL | `https://mcp.portfobit.com/v1/mcp` |
| Authorization | Browser OAuth |

Use the controls available in the user's Muse version. If it cannot configure Remote MCP with OAuth, explain that limitation rather than substituting a Portfobit Developer API Key or claiming setup succeeded.

## 2. Sign in and authorize

1. Open [Portfobit](https://portfobit.com) and sign in, or create your account.
2. Start the Portfobit connection from Muse and follow browser OAuth.
3. Let the user choose the scopes on Portfobit's authorization page and approve access.
4. Return to Muse and call `get_current_user_context` or `list_account_connectors` to check the connection.

The OAuth path does not require creating a key in Portfobit's **API Keys** page. If the user wants Muse to create an exchange account connection through MCP, it needs `account:write`; the website's Add Account flow is also available. Do not silently change the user's chosen access.

## 3. Connect the first exchange account

Follow [Connect Your First Account](https://docs.portfobit.com/guides/connect-your-first-account.md). Discover the chosen exchange connector, explain its API-key creation steps, let the user choose AI-assisted or website credential entry, and complete the connection.

Check the first sync and show the available account data. Report success only after Portfobit confirms the account and its sync result.
